The Day Continues

It's just a few hours until midnight and my mom finally made it home. I was so happy that I started to cry.

I've never been so worried in my life. I was scared I would never see her again.

We had to pull her up by a bedsheat rope from the master bedroom window because all the windows doors downstairs are sealed up so tightely, I can't even get to them. We took apart the desk in John's room and a few book shelves to board them up.

Mom wrecked her car about four blocks from here. She said that there were so many cars piled up from all the people trying to leave town, and everyone was running about, screaming and crying that it was near impossible to tell what was going on. Not to mention screams from people being ripped to shreads by... zombies.

I can't belive I am actually writing that word.

Sister and I  also made contact with our neighbours. They were supposed to be having a huge house party this weekend, so they have all kinds of food. They said they would be willing to share with us if we need it. And we've agreed to take turns watching the areas around the house. We don't really have a signal or anything - just to throw things at the window and scream if we see anything.

The electricty keeps flickering on and off  now. And the raido has gone silent.

I'm surprised I can still log on, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time until we lose power again. And one of these times... it's not going to come back on.

At least the tornado sirens have stopped.

The only sounds we can hear now are the distant screams and the occasional car alarm.  Its why we've been keeping the windows closed, even though it's stuffy in here.  I just don't want to hear those noises.

None of the phones seem to work either. The land line has been dead almost all day, and even though I've got a signal on my cellphone, nothing goes through.

I just wish I knew that everyone else was safe. But I don't know... and that scares me.

Note to self: Do not read [livejournal.com profile] galenhiril's LJ before going to bed, especially not after something (really hoping it was a moth) was knocking on the window.

eeep! XD

Sorry! I'm sure it was just a moth... unless your town is infested with zombies too. I hear it's a wide spread epidemic.

Well, that's what I get for randomly reading what's at the top of my f-list without any kind of context whatsoever, and for being paranoid and scared of really silly thing. But I'm still blaming you if I get nightmares. =P

XD I will take full responsability for any nightmares you have. Because zombies are lame...

I'm so glad your mom made it out okay! Things seem to be calming down a lot; a whole crowd of zombies fell apart in the street a while back, like puppets with their strings cut. Whatever animated them seems to be wearing off, or maybe they just have a short shelf-life. I think clean-up will be a long term project, but I think the human race has managed to survive.
